It is difficult describing my life because, well, it's just a long story!!! I have lived in many different places but mainly grew up in various parts of Maryland. After high school, I moved to Texas where I spent the next several years, but eventually, I moved back to Maryland.

After several years back on the home turf, I met my wonderful husband. We first met in 1996 at an IRC party, but we were both dating other people at the time. In late 1999, we reconnected and soon started dating each other. That winter was one of the worst we had ever seen in the area, and when the snow and ice finally melted away from the car, we said, "We're out of here!" Kevin received a terrific job offer in Austin, Texas, so we packed our stuff and moved cross-country together in early 2000, and we eventually got married. (Read the humorous story of our trip.)

Shortly after the move, I organized the Austin PCOS Organization, a support group for women in Austin with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). We incorporated as a nonprofit in 2002 and received public charity status from the IRS in early 2003! Volunteering my time and energy for PCOS awareness has been a big part of my life since my PCOS diagnosis in 1990 and dealing with subsequent infertility.

In the summer of 2000, I enrolled in a PCOS research study being conducted by the U.T. Health Science Center in San Antonio. For six months, I was given a diabetes medication even though I do not have diabetes, and it reversed my infertility without the aid of any other drugs. I became pregnant during the sixth and final month of the study. Kevin and I welcomed our beautiful daughter, Lauren in August 2001.

In the fall of 2003, I resumed taking college classes, and I finally completed an Associate's Degree in Business Administration in May 2004. Shortly thereafter, we found out baby #2 was on the way, thanks again to a diabetes medication. Amanda made her grand entrance in February 2005 when I was also battling double pneumonia.

Currently, I am a part-time bookkeeper for a local real estate developer and home builder. I am also a freelance website and graphic designer, and I've been expanding my skill set by learning PHP and MySQL interactivity. In my free time, I like to play computer games like Dungeon Siege, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth, and Unreal Tournament!

Other things I like to do include camping, fishing, horseback riding, and canoeing....although I have to say that I can't remember doing any of these things lately. Getting quality family time, juggling household chores, and doing other responsibilities is very challenging, and most of the time, my house shows it. :)
